1970 Oldsmobile F-85

Purchased May 11, 2002 from a guy in Minnesota.  It's been a Minnesota car all its life and you can tell.  Its had some previous bodywork, not very good, and a repaint, not bad actually.  Unfortunately, there is some rust in the rear frame rail that needs to be repaired.  However the interior is in GREAT shape with minimal wear.  And who doesn't like the cool F-85 specific steering wheel and a rubber floor mat instead of carpeting.  The body damage in front happened to the guy I bought it from.  It was parked in the street and a garbage trunk hit it.  The bad thing is, there is a hole in the bumper, so it can't just be straightened and rechromed, it has to be replaced.

The plan for this car is it will be my street/strip toy.  I plan on adding a wing (in a different trunk lid, this one is mint.  surprisingly mint considering it's a Minnesota car.) and also a ram air hood.  I have a set of SSII that need to be blasted and painted before going on.  I hate the American Racing rims that are on it now.  But two of the tires are practically brand new.  I'm torn between swapping in a 455 I have or using the current 350 and making a W-31 clone.  Right now, the only body work I'm planning is having the frame repaired and a section of the trunk floor replaced.  I will swap on a better set of front fenders and doors when the price is right.  Both front and rear window channels are excellent and rust free.  Another surprise, considering it's a Minnesota car.

The options on my F-85 include M-38 Turbo Hyda-matic 350 transmission, A01 Soft-Ray tinted windshield and windows, N47 Vari-Ratio power steering, P26 White Stripe Fiberglass - Belted Tires, P01 Wheel discs and U63 Deluxe Pushbutton radio.

The first thing I did was remove the godawful white mud flaps.
